TIRO

Tiro, better-known as Moghel is a 16-year-old social media influencer. Tiro is the youngest of 7 children, 6 girls and 1 boy. She was born and raised in Rustenburg, but stayed in Pretoria for the first 3 years of her life before moving to Rustenburg and currently resides in Hartbeespoort.

Tiro started modelling when she was 11, at the time she did runway modelling for only a year. She then joined JustYou Agency earlier last year as a commercial model and has since then shot a commercial for 'The Development Bank of SA'. Tiro is currently an ambassador for 6 brands, namely: MoodHype, SMG_kicks, DeneysSwissDairy (a cool drink and milkshake company), CoffeeAsidar_sa, KeituHairCare & RealVgStore. She also has a YouTube channel where she uploads vlogs, storytimes, tags, challenges and so forth which she uses mainly to boost her presenting career.

Tiro co-owns an online magazine 'TeenUnplugged' which focuses on teenage artists (dancers, musicians, models, poets etc.) "I started TeenUnplugged to help artists market themselves, as I have notice that being a young artist in our country is difficult" says Tiro. She also co-founded a youth/political organization called 'Youth of Azania' (Azania is the name of Africa together as a nation). "YOA's vision is to encourage youth participation in the development of South Africa and to create a conducive atmosphere for all of us to grow up in. Our mission is to rally all young people behind the beliefs and values of YOA. Educate the youth about rape, crime, domestic violence and provide solutions to combat such issues. And we also focuses on issues like racism and patriarchy".

Her future aspirations is to put modelling aside and focus on presenting as she desperately wants to see herself on YoTV. "I like modeling but I want something that'll require for me to use my personality" she says.

Her advice to all the young females that want to move towards the entertainment industry is that "you need to be firm. I haven't made it but one thing I can tell you is that this industry is ruthless. It's every man/woman for himself/herself. Also, if you get a deal with a brand, it doesn't matter how big or small that brand is, if the owner/manager hits on you, TERMINATE the contract. It doesn't matter how much he was gonna pay you, don't let people walk over you. I had to turn down deals from big brands because of unprofessionalism. When it comes to business, you can't let anyone disrespect you. It's either they follow protocol or you don't do business with them, simple."

She also believes that one shouldn't just accept deals from brands just because they're popular. If that brand won't make YOUR brand grow, you should leave it." Like with me, not to be shady or anything, I don't promote forex traders, simply because my brand has got nothing to do with trading". Furthermore, Tiro encourages the youth to focus on money, but branding. "Yeah, it's always nice to make money while doing what you love, but if all you think about is the money, you're actually going to spend less time doing what needs to be done in order for you to make that money". As Tiro continues to inspire other young females and continues on her journey to be a renowned presenter, we await to see what moves she has for 2019
